Reality television stars are big hits for Halloween costuming each year, and this year is no exception. MTV’s Jersey Shore cast offers fine fodder for trick-or-treat outfits and costume parties this fall. In particular, Snooki is one of the top Halloween costumes of the season.
How can you create your own do-it-yourself Jersey Shore’s Snooki costume for Halloween? Here’s the situation (so to speak). It’s easy!
First, gather your Halloween Snooki costume-making supplies.
Here are the supplies that are required to make the Jersey Shore‘s Snooki costume.
The number-one component of the Jersey Shore‘s Snooki Halloween costume is the long black wig with the poofy hair on top. Snooki wigs are sold by many costume shops and online at Costume Discounters, Costume Kingdom, Costumes Supercenter, Halloween Costumes and other costume and masquerade e-tailers.
Prices range from $15 to $30 or more for licensed Jersey Shore‘s Snooki wigs. Most Halloween shops and even big-box discount stores carry long-tressed black wigs at considerably cheaper prices as well.
Of course, leftover Elvira wigs will do nicely, with a bit off poofing and hairstyling to create the Snooki look. (Remember Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, played by Cassandra Peterson?) Snooki’s trademark hairstyle is long, thick ebony hair with a poofy partial bun on top. The front tresses are left loose and tucked off to the side.
Of course, no Jersey Shore‘s Snooki look is complete without a skimpy tight dress, preferably fashioned in a gaudy and shiny synthetic fabric in an animal print or a too-bright color. Skip natural fibers; only polyester will do for Jersey Shore‘s Snooki, who is also partial to plunging necklines. The petite, yet curvy, reality television star is known for flashing her figure in all her outfits.
A black shawl, wrap or glitzy sweater may be used as an accessory, particularly on a chilly Halloween evening.
Vintage platform shoes (the higher the better) may be found at resale shops and thrift stores. These need not match the dress. In fact, once again, the gaudier varieties of platform sandals may be most like the footwear worn by Snooki on MTV’s Jersey Shore reality television series.
A bit of irony may be added to the Jersey Shore‘s Snooki Halloween costume with a sample of Acai Berry Supply diet product. (Print the label from the company’s website, and stick it on the trick-or-treat bag.) Real-life Snooki has apparently been offered a pricey deal as a spokesperson for the weight loss product line. The former cheerleader and veterinary technician student is rumored to have faced an eating disorder as a teen.
Finish the Jersey Shore‘s Snooki look with a bronzer, tanning cream or tinted lotion, for the Jersey girl known as Snooki is devoted to tanning. And be sure to adopt a South Jersey accent, if you can.
Finally, if a guy is game enough, Snooki might sport a costumed counterpart, Mike (The Situation) Sorrentino (who also appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2010), on one arm. A group of friends might don Jersey Shore costumes to portray the entire cast of housemates.
