A bone-shaped dog biscuit can be more than just a treat for Fido! Turn a dog biscuit into a craft project that will be a great craft to make with the kids or as a gift for a favorite dog lover. Here are a few cute craft ideas using a plain dog biscuit and some imagination.
Artsy Dog Biscuit
For a variation of a dog biscuit craft, paint the dog biscuit, allow to dry then spray with clear spray paint to seal it. Glue sequins, glitter, buttons for a funky dog art project. Add a magnet or a ribbon for hanging and you’ve got a simple piece of dog art!
Felt Art Dog Biscuit
Create a similar craft by using a dog biscuit as a template. Cut out two pieces of felt in the shape of the dog biscuit. Sew them together with a running stitch or a blanket stitch, leaving an opening for stuffing. Add a small amount of stuffing to puff up the dog biscuit then close it up. Decorate the felt dog biscuit with glitter, sequins, buttons or whatever you have on hand. You can make this stuffed dog biscuit on a larger scale to create a cute throw pillow for your couch or bed. The small version can become a Christmas tree ornament or a fridge magnet.
This cute little craft is fun and easy to make and will be cute on a fridge (just add magnet), hanging up somewhere (add ribbon for hanging) or even on a Christmas tree.
To make the dog biscuit craft you will need a plain, bone-shaped dog biscuit, felt, wiggly eyes, pom poms, craft glue or hot glue and a red seed bead. The seed bead is optional–my dog biscuit had a small hole where the nose would be positioned so I did not add the seed bead. Instead, I added a small red pom pom as a doggy tongue.
Place the biscuit vertically on your work surface. Cut ear shapes from felt and glue to the top of the biscuit, then glue on wiggle eyes, tiny pom poms on the face and the seed bead, and finally four larger pom poms for feet. Add personality to your doggy biscuit with scrap felt (think collar, hair bow, cute hat, doggy vest). Glue a magnet or a length of ribbon onto the back of the biscuit for hanging.
