The Brooklyn Center for Independence of the Disabled is offering a a free legal clinic in conjunction with Brooklyn Community Pride Center and Urban Justice Center. It is held on the last Tuesday of each month from 6pm to 8pm at 27 Smith Street, Suite 300 (Between Livingston and Fulton Streets.) The BCID provides disability rights advocacy, offers peer support, housing advocacy, independent living skills, job training, consultation, government benefits information, resource information and referral. A majority of their staff members and volunteers have disabilities themselves and work to help other people with varying disabilities overcome discrimination and cope with physical and communication barriers.
