There are many reasons to live in Brooklyn. But did you realize that cheesecake is one of them? Not that you have to live here to partake of Junior’s masterpiece creations, as they probably will serve those Manhattanites who venture across the bridge, but bragging rights are always good.
New York Daily News gave Brooklynites one more feather in the bragging cap today, giving Juniors the nod for their cheesecake in an article featuring the best bakeries and sweet makers in all of NYC. Of course, we already knew it’s the best, but recognition is always appreciated.
Junior’s, at 386 Flatbush Ave. in Downtown Brooklyn, opened in 1950 and has used the same recipe since 1951. While there are a few other locations out side of Brooklyn (and even in Manhattan), there is just something about going to the flagship restaurant that can’t be beat.
So if you have yet to visit Junior’s or haven’t been there for a while, take this opportunity to bask in some borough pride, and maybe just a bit of bragging.
