In New York City, the subways are usually pretty reliable, but when you have to travel above ground, finding a bus that will get you there in short order can be a real pain. The MTA has announced the rerouting of the B54 bus through the MetroTech Center, according to the Brooklyn Eagle. This will keep buses off of main roads like Tillary and the Flatbush Avenue extension.
Local residents are thrilled by this. Nathan Mandraccia, 29, a commuter who makes his way through MetroTech often for work says that the move to take the buses off the roads is “smart.” This change in route is expected to make folks’ trips easier that are traveling to the Jay Street-Borough Hall station where the A, C and F trains depart.
This move will take westbound B54 buses from Myrtle Avenue to Duffield Street, onto the MetroTech roads, remerging on Jay Street. Buses heading east will for now remain unchanged.
