Yeast infections are caused when there is an excess of yeast in the body, and the pH gets off-balance. Lemon juice is highly acidic, so it works to help make the pH of a woman’s body more acidic, balancing out her pH and allowing the good bacteria to grow, and make a yeast infection go away quicker. When the alkaline is too high and the acidic volume in the body is too low, this allows yeast infections to occur.
To treat a yeast infection with lemon juice, simply add a teaspoon of lemon juice to your daily water intake, to allow the acidic properties in the lemon juice to help balance out the pH and help a yeast infection fade. Drinking 1/4 cup hot water with 3 teaspoons of lemon juice when you first wake up, and then continuing to add lemon juice to your daily water intake daily helps to keep the yeast infection from maintaining control of your body.
You can also add lemon juice to cranberry juice, if that is what you are using to treat your yeast infection already. The cranberry juice flushes out the bad bacteria that is aiding your yeast infection, while the lemon juice helps build the acidity in the bacteria, helping the good bacteria to breed and to help the yeast infection fade more quickly.
Adding a few tablespoons of lemon juice to your tub water and soaking in it for about 15 minutes to a half hour is a great way to attack the outer yeast infection along the anus and the outer vagina as well, so you can help ease the infection and keep it from spreading to other areas of your outer vagina and along your anus.
If your yeast infection does not fade or improve within 7 days, see your doctor for additional cures for your yeast infection. If you also notice pain or burning when you urinate, extreme itching, or back pain as well, see your doctor, as you may have a UTI or bladder infection that is also causing you pain.
