You will be surprised at the amount of people that are unaware of the effects that food has on your dog, not just on his health but on his well being and attitude to life. If you are anything like me then you will care greatly about your dog and do everything you can to make him happy and keep him healthy. The problem is not everything that makes your dog happy is going to keep him healthy.
I had been feeding my dog wet dog food for years because I thought that it was what he wanted, I knew that dry dog food was good for his teeth so I used to give him some for breakfast then ½ a can of 1.2kg of wet dog food for dinner. He was very happy but was always still hungry after his dinner; I never gave my dog snacks or scraps, as I believed them to be unhealthy. The cost of giving my dog that amount of meat was taking its toll on my shopping budget so I decided to look into cheaper but still healthy ways of feeding him.
After some research I began to see that the benefits of dry dog food outweighed that of the wet dog food consistently in almost every category. The complete dog food that you can now buy is engineered to cater for you’re dog’s every need; it even comes in cool shapes with each shape having a different roll. There are shapes for providing protein for muscle development and growth, essential nutrients, essential minerals and vitamins for healthy teeth and bones they even make nice moist chunks with all the right oils to give him a healthy coat.
The wet dog food that I was giving him was just a load of meat with no real nutritional value, not compared to its dry equivalent. The best part about the whole thing is it is much cheaper.
What I was spending in a week on wet dog food now gets me a 3-week supply of dried food. I have noticed a significant change in everything about him, more energy and a healthier coat, much more alert and he doesn’t spend all day wondering around the house looking for food that my daughter has dropped. He is all together happier and the transition from wet food to dry food was no problem I don’t even think he noticed the difference to be honest.
