Carroll Gardens has a new burger joint. Dubuque Restaurant opened its doors in a nice-looking space at 548 Court Street near Ninth Street.
The name works two-fold for the new patty purveyor. Dubuque bills itself as a Middle American grill, and what’s more middle America than Dubuque? But the name also refers to the new spot’s location Down Under the Brooklyn Queens Expressway.
The menu, uploaded to the restaurant’s Facebook page, shows appetizers like fried calamari, tempura green beans, roasted brussel sprouts with smoked applewood bacon and pine nuts, and chicken liver mousse with brandy and green peppercorns (Middle America sure has changed since we left it ten years ago). The appetizers run an average of $6 each.
Dubuque also serves several salads and sandwiches. But the main focus of the new restaurant are its burgers.
They serve lamb, beef, or pork burgers ranging from $9 to $12. And they also have a cod and scallop burger with black olive pesto and caper sauce.
Without a burger-based restaurant in the area, save for pubs, Dubuque offers a nice option for a casual dining experience.
Dubuque is located at 548 Court Street, and is open from 5PM to 10PM Tuesday through Sunday. And staying open till 11PM on Saturday nights.
