I’ve only briefly checked in on DWTS this season and have caught most of my updates on the net here and there. But, you would have to live under the proverbial rock to miss the drama that has gone on with Bristol Palin, the oldest daughter of Sarah Palin, aka, the most hated conservative woman in America.
Bristol Palin Receives Death Threats
It seems that the fact America has been voting like mad to keep Bristol Palin on the show, despite the fact the girl simply cannot dance, has inspired all kinds of hate mail, death threats and suspicious looking powder to be delivered to her on the show. All of which has prompted DWTS to provide extra security for Bristol.
Really? Over a dance show?
Like another, equally hated, gossip lightening rod, Kate Gosselin, Bristol Palin came into the show as the “every woman” type of candidate. She can’t dance and she knows it. She’s not a celebrity and she knows that too.
Her only claim to fame (or infamy, depending on how you want to look at it, I guess) is that her mother is the former Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, whom, every liberal in America hates. Which means, then, that Bristol is hated by proxy.
Bristol Palin Rolls with the Punches
I have to hand it to the girl though. She’s remarkably grounded and level headed. She doesn’t seem inclined to put on airs or pretense and is content with who she is – an ordinary girl from Alaska. But, like it or not, she has become the poster child for the relentless war between conservatives and liberals in this country.
A war which hinges on the liberals who make the most noise, but the conservatives who seem to have the most power and in this case, voting power. A teensy weensy little fact that drives most liberals right up the wall. Whatever.
DWTS Reps Say Voting Not Rigged
But, anyway. If you want to talk about who the best dancer is, I suppose Jennifer Grey should win the show. She is after all a dancer.
However, if you want to talk playing by the stupid rules, then Bristol Palin should win the show. America has called in and voted for her. DWTS reps have also spoken out and said they have confidence in the voting system. So, I guess that means nothing untoward is going on with the voting.
If she wins, she’ll be winning fair and square and frankly, I hope she does.
