Birmingham is known for being an extremely safe place. Nonetheless, crime still occasionally touches this tight-knit community. The weekend of October 16 through October 18 was no exception. An expensive electronic device and a very costly pair of earrings were stolen in separate incidents over that weekend in the city of Birmingham.
The $37,000 pair of earrings were reported stolen from a home in the 1300 block of Fairfax. The owner of the jewelry believes that the thief had access to the home in one way or another. Birmingham police are currently interviewing possible suspects.
Over that same weekend, in the 500 block of Wimbleton, a $400 navigational system was stolen from a vehicle. According to the victim, the car had been left unlocked. Police have no possible suspects at this time.
