The leaves are changing from green to red, orange and golds. Thanksgiving is almost here. It is a beautiful time of the year to take inspiration from God’s palette of colors to decorate your home for Thanksgiving. For this decorating process all you need to do is take a walk outside and gather some of the autumn “goodies”. The only limit is the limit of your imagination.
Pine cone Decorations:
*Put pine cones in a basket or glass jar for your coffee table.
*Scatter pine cones onto your mantle.
*Hot glue smaller pine cones around candles to make a unique centerpiece for the dining room table.
*Glue small pine cones around a picture frame.
*Let the kids help decorate the house by letting them pick out leaves and scatter them out on the mantle. Adjust the pine cones for a distinctive look.
*Make a border for a collage picture of the family or make leaf place mats.
*Purchase a Styrofoam wreath and adorn it with leaves, pine cones, acorns, or any other autumn goodies.
*Adorn a large candle with leaves. Simply soften the wax with a hair dryer. Then press the leaves into the candle.
*String leaves together to make an autumn garland. Use to wind down the staircase.
*Layer the red, gold, orange leaves into a glass jar.
*Set interesting looking branches in a glass vase for the side tables.
*Put together a fall vignette with branches, leaves, pine cones, acorns or any other autumn goodies that you may find.
*Use branches as a very unique centerpiece for the dining room table. Lay the branch lengthwise onto the table, nestle some votive candles around the branch, and fill in the spaces with leaves and the pine cones.
Decorating for the Thanksgiving season has never been easier or cheaper. Just take a walk and let nature inspiration your imagination for the decorating. As mentioned before, the ONLY limit to the decorating possibilities are that of your own imagination. Happy Fall Decorating!
