Don’t look now but Craigslist run as the cheap way to connect with other people for jobs, houses, goods and services may be at an end.
People have been speculating for awhile that Craigslist was a dangerous idea sneaking up on EBAY.
Well, EBAY didn’t blink. Instead it bought a 25 percent stake in the company.
While researching the hundreds of people who strongly dislike EBAY and have founded their own ” I hate EBAY ” blogs, I found that EBAY had bought some shares of its rival back in 2004.
So now if you hate EBAY you may also end up hating Craigslsit too if it resorts to the same policy of price hiking and fees for it’s sellers.
And now that the very lucrative ” Adult Services” section is gone, regular people who try to sell a bike or rent a room in their basement will most likely have to pay a listing fee in the future.
Craigslist already charges to post advertisements for jobs.
It’s not alot but the wave of the future might include fees and happy people dancing on TV like Ebay.
I hope not. Because I like the fact that Craigslist runs with very little overhead and without people employed to send you nasty or silly emails as EBAY does.
All good things eventually end.
