If you recall, we did a review on a cloth diaper for Ecomom. Well, we’re here again to announce that Ecomom has made some very exciting new changes! Not only have they changed their website, but they’re offering a better selection of products, as well as a special discount program for customers!
Now, two of the major additions to Ecomom, are Plum Tots and Revolution Foods. Both of these lines are simply amazing (and delicious)! And the best part is, they’re organic, natural, and committed to helping you give your baby the best! Plum tots is focused more on babies and toddlers, offering a wide variety of baby and toddler foods, such as single fruits, blends, training meals, snacks and finger foods! And Revolution Foods is more geared towards older children, including things like grammy sammys (graham cracker snack bars), jammy sammys (graham cracker and jam snack bars), mashups (mashed fruit in an easy to drink pouch), and popalongs (popped chips)! They’re great and easy for convenient snacking, and packing organic lunches for your kids! And even more, Revolution Foods donates 3% of its earnings to school lunch programs!
We had the opportunity of conducting a taste test for some of the aforementioned items, and I do have to say it was fun! We saved the majority of the pouches for Maddi and Danny, but my sister and I taste tested too! After all, I shouldn’t feed my kids something I wouldn’t eat… So how do I know if I would eat it or not if I don’t taste it?
So, my sister Tori and I arranged our soon-to-be-samplings around the plate in a circle. We did it that way so that we’d know exactly which one we were sampling! Otherwise, we might get confused… Although it might have been fun to do a blind taste test! My sister started cracking up laughing in the middle of the video, but later I found out it was because my other sister (behind the camera) was teasing her for eating baby food!
My favorite was the Tropical flavored Mashup by Revolution Foods, while Tori really liked the Strawberry. And Maddi and Danny? They just liked everything, even the pear, spinach and peas one! That one really surprised me. My first reaction was “They mixed WHAT together?!” But I figured, it was worth a shot, and I tried it. It wasn’t my absolute favorite out of the bunch, but it tasted really good and both of my kids ate it like they didn’t even know there were vegetables in it!
I really liked the carrot apple fiddlesticks. They tasted more apple-y with just a hint of carrot, and were a lot like a bisquit. They were hard, but they weren’t so hard that it was awkward to eat. I think they’d be great for a teething baby.
And between the two Sammy’s, I think I enjoyed the jammy sammy more than the grammy sammy, even though they were both good. What can I say? I just like jam! Especially strawberry jam.
My Overall Review
Based on five factors, each ranging from one star to five stars which are then averaged out, the Plum Tots and Revolution Foods baby foods received 4.6 stars!
Fulfills Purpose Well – 5 Stars
Worked great! Not only is it healthy, and nutritious, but it’s easy to get my kids to eat! So often you find foods that are good for you children, but they do you no good if you can’t get your child to eat them! This is definitely not the case here! They’re good for them AND they love them!
Design & Visual Appeal – 5 Stars
I love these pouches. They are seriously a great alternative to those space-consuming, difficult to stack, store and transport glass jars and plastic containers! These containers are definitely an awesome alternative. They’re easy to pack, they mold to the space around them, and they’re easy to store the leftovers! Just screw the cap back on!
Ease of Use – 5 Stars
Simple! Unscrew the cap, breaking the seal, and serve into a bowl to spoon feed to a younger child, or let an older child have it to drink (supervised, of course)! Did I mention that when you break the seal, it dosen’t leave ANY of those shart plastic shards like most containers do???
Affordability – 4 Stars
Now, we all know organic foods can be a little bit pricey, but these ones are very competitively price! You can also buy in bulk, making the savings add up faster, as well as help you stock up your cupboards for your little one! There prices are definitely great, and they do coupon promotions every now and then, so it makes it even better! And if you have an EcoPass membership, there’s the opportunity to save even more!
Earth Friendliness – 4 Stars
The caps to the pouches are recycleable, and even if they weren’t, the pouches take up less space in the trash (and landfills) than the jars and plastic containers of baby food do, making them even more eco-conscious! By the way, did I mention that they’re all BPA free?
