If you are using Xoops to create your website, this tutorial will help you with the blocks. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to edit your blocks found in Xoops. When you edit your blocks, you can change the location of the block, rename the block, and more. You will need to be logged in as admin and go to your control panel to get started.
Opening Your Blocks Panel in Xoops
Let’s begin with opening your blocks panel in Xoops. Once you are in your control panel, you will need to find the Blocks button and click it. Your blocks panel will then load and you will see all of the blocks you currently have on your Xoops site. This is where you will select the blocks you want to edit and edit them.
Editing Your Blocks in Xoops
Choose a block to edit and I will walk you through the editing process. When you find a block you want to edit, click the Edit link to the far right of the block. The page will reload and you will see the fields that you can edit.
On this page, you can change the position of the block. You can move it from where it’s at to another spot on your site by changing the Block Type. Dropping the Block Type box down and selecting another location will move the block once you save the changes. You can change the title of the block by deleting the name in the title and typing what you want.
You can also select which groups will be able to see and use this block. At the bottom of your page, you will see the Group Access section. You can hold the CTRL key on your keyboard and click the groups you want. You can select what pages the block is visible on by clicking the pages in the Visible In section.
When you have finished editing a block, you can click the Submit button to save your changes. Then you will be redirected to your blocks panel again. From there you can choose another block or go somewhere else on your site.
