Bed bugs have different affects on people. While some people will do anything to get them gone, other people feel ashamed to have bed bugs. When people hear bed bugs, a majority of people associate them with a dirty environment or person. That’s not true. Bed bugs can be in a clean or dirty environment. A bed bug needs a warm host and the ability to hide.
Due to a wide spread myth that bed bugs live in dirty places, some people are scared to admit they have bed bugs. Sometimes fear will cause a person to lie about bed bugs. People in denial about bed bugs often let the problem get out of hand before asking for help from products or a pest control company
If you notice a bed bug infestation in a hotel or dorm, you should report that to the management. If you notice a bed bug infestation in an apartment complex or dorm situation, you should report that to the land lord. A land lord or own has specific legal obligation to provide a safe and habitable residence for their tenants. If you are unsure or your rights or fear your might be in the wrong, you can contact your state health agencies and the housing authority for more help.
After a bed bug infestation, people have reported a long lasting tingle feeling like a bed bug is crawling on them or biting them. Some reported lasting affects have been sleepless nights or a fear of being in a bed. Excessively washing clothes, vacuuming carpets and cleaning their living area. While some might think these reactions are normal at first, long lasting cleaning obsessions can lead to other issues in a persons life.
