Episode two of Season 2 starts off in laundry mat with Olivia and Brianna. Olivia confesses that she hates being torn in the middle of pleasing Mama Gayle and the Glam Fairy. Viewers also discover that you don’t need to apply water to washers as Olivia points out to her blond roommate.
Anthony is looking at preschools with his wife for his son, little Anthony. His family does a walk through at one school. He is stunned when he finds out that three years old are being taught computers. He is even more blown away when he finds out the preschool price tag is a hefty $14,000 per year.
After hearing about the cost, Anthony visits the Gatsby to talk to Gayle. She is hoping to hire Anthony as an assistant manager while her daughter Gail is on maternity leave. Unfortunately, Gail gets sideswiped and learns that Anthony is quitting the salon to focus on his own (which will be reopening after the remodel in four weeks).
Gayle and Christy are disappointed to hear the news and Gayle opens the managerial position to the rest of the group with an increase offer in pay. Of course, Olivia and Tracy both think they have a shot at it. Meanwhile, the Glam Fairy, Alexa, gets ticked off that Christy and Gail didn’t consult her first. She blows up at Christy on the floor until Anthony approaches them and states there is a client at the front desk. Later on, Olivia starts a conversation about the manager position with Alexa and she in turn, flips a lid. It’s pretty obvious that Alexa feels entitled that she should be filling the manager shoes.
Next, the cameras focus on Filippo as he tells everyone that he saved his sister’s life. Apparently, she was choking on chicken and mozzarella. Due to this life saving rescue, he jokes that he should be manager. Gigi openly states that Anthony should be the manager because he has the most experience. This is when everyone finds out that Anthony has given his four week notice.
Come to find out, everyone at the Gatsby is dying to be the manager. So, Christy decides to give everyone a fair trial run day. First runner up, Tracy. Of course, she tries to run with an “iron fist” as Anthony points out. She is like a vulture in tacky high heels. The first prey she picks on is, of course, Olivia. All hell breaks lose when Tracy comments on a client Olivia was applying makeup on. The client asked for a natural look meanwhile, Olivia is applying a loud smoky look and Tracy takes the opportunity to reel in. Well, come to find out, the client wanted a more smokey look in the end.
On a different note, Alexa announces to Anthony and Gigi that she has a new boy toy named, Carmen. Who is not happy with her busy schedule so she is trying to intermingle her personal life with her professional life. Viewers find out that things with Ryan (from a previous episode in last season) fizzled out. Anyhow, she decides to have a dinner party and invites them so they can meet her new beau.
Back at the salon, Olivia asks Christy how the manager position is coming along. Christy is telling her that the job is a lot to handle and three people really need to fill her shoes while she is gone. Alexa walks in during the conversation and flips a lid. A fuming Glam fairy asks Olivia to step inside the boxing ring which always seems to be the Gatsby’s parking out. Alexa flips out and feels Olivia is undermining her and states, “I am the one who deems what is a right and wrong behavior….. Right now you are not demonstrating the criteria of someone is going to work for me.” After the confrontation, Olivia feels being a Glam Fairy is more important, so she backs down from applying for the position.
Gigi is the next promising manager in trial. She starts off wanting everyone to give a compliment to one another. Olivia is forced to give Tracy a compliment, so she takes notice of one of Tracy’s rings on her claws. Come to find out, the tacky twins own the same exact ring.
Christy then trains Gigi how to use the computer and things start to go downhill. Gigi starts to freak out but is saved by the bell when a customer calls in. Everything seems to go wrong that day, including a broken vacuum and the tacky twins fighting. So, Gigi steps in and tells them to compliment each other. Fake smiles come alive.
In the evening, Alexa starts to prepare dinner, but is upset that Carmen is running late. She finishes cooking but doesn’t have time to “glamify” herself because her beau didn’t show up to help her out with dinner. Gigi and Anthony show up with their dates, but Alex still isn’t ready. Instead, she is chasing her dog Rue in her sweats.
Alexa decides to serve her guests with wine and food portions made for children. She is frazzled because her date is extremely late and complains about it all night long. Anthony and Gigi decide to eat and run in order to get away from the heat from the kitchen.
Back at the Gatsby, Fillip approaches Gayle and Christy for the managerial position. Gayle is hesitant but is open to the suggestion. After all, he ran his father’s pizza business and has the experience. Once he is given a trial approval, he immediately starts making calls. Next, we see Filippo’s father bringing in an espresso machine. Then, a ton of girls come strolling into the salon. Filippo’s motto, “A beautiful haircut, a shot of espresso, what more could a girl ask for!”
Girl after girl comes walking in and Christy is starting to wonder what Fillip is promising these girls on the side but is pretty impressed with his skills. Then, the cameras go in slow motion on a beautiful girl named, Veronica, and all possibility of him earning the position goes down the drain because Filippo cannot resist flirting with a pretty girl. He learns that Veronica is interviewing for the new manager position and starts stalking her. Filippo goes gaga, the phones go unanswered, and Christy puts the smack down.
So, after the management trials, even though Tracy showed the most promise, Gayle and Tracy re-approach Anthony about the manager position. The are desperate and bribing is in order. However, Anthony is still not biting.
At the end of the episode, Gayle announces the new temporary manager. Come to find out, Anthony has taken the position. I guess they gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse. Tracy has her claws out but Olivia is happy. They also introduce two new receptionists, Veronica and Sandy. Oh boy, Filippo’s new victims.
