When someone tells you that life can change in a minute that is so true. My own story is a point in fact. There I was very proud of my accomplishment, I had made it half way across the street in only a matter of twenty minutes with a clear view of the other side of the road. I had paused to catch my breath when this bigger than life thing stopped beside me. I saw this huge hand reaching for me so I did like Momma had taught me, I tucked in my tail, arms and head. Even thought I was safely tucked in my shell however I could feel myself being lifted high into the air. I must have been above the whole world. Then I was inside the big thing that had stopped beside me but I was not being eaten I could tell that much. It was all very strange. Then I could feel great movement, faster than I had ever moved in my entire life. This only lasted for a little while and then the hand had me again, swinging me over the earth. I have to admit I was quaking in my shell. I had never even heard of such things happening to another turtle in my life but it was happening to me. If I ever got home it would make a great story to tell my friends. Well, that is if I live though it. I was placed safely back on the ground but I still could not stop shaking. Then there were so many voices and I think they were talking about me, I think they might have been humans though I could not be sure never having encountered one before. My great uncle had told us young ones about humans but I thought he was making it all up. And now I knew for sure he wasn’t because they seemed to be all around me. I could not get my shell any more tightly closed even thought I tried as hard as I could. Oh no, here we go again, up, up, up into the air. This must be how a bird feels thought I must admit it is not something any turtle I know would enjoy, I certainly was not liking it one bite. After a short time it got quieter. Maybe I could relax a mite so I peeked out just a little. I must say where I landed this time was in a much cozier spot, soft dirt and fallen leaves all around. It got quieter and quieter and so I stuck my head out just a little, it seemed safe, nothing happened. I looked around as much as I could and decided to be brave and stick my neck out. Nothing around me was moving except the wind and so I made my break for it, I ran away as fast as I could go but my life will never be the same. As soon as I figure out where home is I can share this adventure with my friends.
