Dino Ciccarelli is having a hard time getting a liquor license for Ballantine 22, a steakhouse and banquet facility he is hoping to open in downtown Royal Oak.
The retired NHL Hockey Hall of Fame inductee was denied his request for a license by a vote of 3-0 from the city commission.
It appears prior violations at a Shelby Township business, Club 22, have come back to haunt him as well. He’s had 49 violations there, reportedly.
The new business would buy the Rumor’s liquor license and transfer it to a location at Fifth and Center streets, seating 357 people. The proposed steak house would serve chops and pizza.
