If you are looking for a fantastic, cheap lip gloss that you can easily pick up at most any drugstore, than I have the one for you!
New York Color has really stepped up their game when it comes to quality. Not only has their product line increased, but most of the items I have tried recently are really comparable to things much more expensive.
I have been hearing a lot of really amazing reviews on their new lip glosses; so of course, I wanted to try it out.
Their “Extreme Lip Glider” lip gloss comes in a sleek long tube. This is something that I had never seen before. Most lip glosses that come in squeeze out tubes are very short and chunky, so this one really caught my eye.
The tube is clear so that you can see the actual product color and amount, but there are some whimsical designs throughout.
There are a lot of different colors to choose from, but I decided on “Carnegie Melon”. I have a few more pink lip glosses, and this melon color just seemed a little different, but still in my comfort zone for everyday use.
I bought mine at Target on sale for just $2.99. I really couldn’t beat the price. I mean, a lip gloss under 3 bucks is definitely a deal, and I had high hopes that this would work.
Well, I couldn’t wait to get home, so I opened the package in my truck and applied it in the parking lot! The only problem I had with opening it was that the plastic seal that makes sure the lid stays on until purchase was very hard to get off! But after a few moments, I finally was able to unscrew the top.
You basically squeeze a small amount of gloss out of the tube and it stays on the slanted plastic applicator. I know that some glosses have felt like slants, but I assume that having a plastic one is more sanitary.
The gloss was actually very pigmented, but when I applied it, it was more sheer. Since I like more sheer lip glosses, this was perfect. If you want something as pigmented as a lip stick, than you might want to overlook this product, but if you are like me and actually like your glosses to be semi pigmented, than this is a great buy.
The scent actually smelled a bit like a watermelon with a touch of something else, maybe strawberry or a bubble gum, I can’t really be sure. It smelled very sweet, but wasn’t too artificial at all. I think that younger girls might really like the scent.
The texture was really smooth. When applied, it was a tad sticky, but mostly smooth and when you rub your lips together, it is like satin. It is just sticky enough to stay put. I am really impressed by the way it stays in place and doesn’t run off your lips, even in the humid and hot weather we have here during the summer.
I really want to get some more colors, as there are at least 2 more that I am interested in.
If you are looking for a fantastic gloss that is easy on your wallet, than this is something to look into.
