I hope you read The Ultimate Fall Makeup Guide Pt.1: Must Have Eye Shadows & Professional Application Tips , if not, then you missed the eye shadow recommendations for the fall season!
What I like about cool weather, is that you can wear more makeup than you could in the summer. But there’s something about fall weather that brings out a glamorous side, don’t you think? I love the fall colors, and these are some shades of lip color that you MUST have in your makeup bag this year!
First up is red. It’s a bright color, but so are fall leaves! Bright colors look great in fall and winter. You can wear it matte (which I think is the best for fall) or if you are on the younger, hipper side, you may find a gloss more wearable. Whatever you choose is just fine. Just make sure it looks right with your undertones. Some Suggestions: Chanel Rouge Lip Colour in Gabrielle, MAC Slimshine Lipstick in Grenadine, or Mark Lots of Lacquer Lip Gloss in Fever.
1. Match the color with your undertone. If you have fair skin, most likely you have pink tones to your skin as well. Pick a red with cool tones, such as blue tones. Usually the blue tones are the reddest reds you can find. If you have yellow or gold under tones, pick a red that has some gold or brown tones. These are usually the reds that look slightly orange in color, or reds that contain gold shimmer. If you have orange or brown undertones, pick a red with a more brown or purple tone. These reds are usually burnished reds or slightly burgundy.
Sometimes the best red is not necessarily red red. It’s more of an orange or brown red. Also, red lips usually call for mostly nude skin. Try to keep your eye makeup minimal. If you wear foundation, make sure you have your flaws covered nicely, but keep it sheer. Foundation can cover up your natural glow and make you look like a porcelain doll. If that does happen, take a little bit of blush and brush it on your cheeks to add more color to your face. You can even dust a little bit of silver shimmer (if you’re pale), bronzer, or gold shimmer powder over your face to make it glow. It works like a charm.
Next up is peach. Peach is such a beautiful color. You can get it in a nearly nude peach, a nearly pink peach, or you can spice it up with a nearly orange peach. Choose which ever you are most comfortable with, but make sure it matches you undertones! Some Suggestions: Tarte Double Dose Lip Gloss in Acerola, Max Factor Max Wear Lip Color in Topaz Tunic, or MAC Venomous Villains Lipstick in Toxic Tale.
2. Peach lips looks great with glowing skin. To get a glow in the fall, check out Golden Goddess! How to Get Sun Kissed Skin Without the Sun! A Guide for ALL Skin Tones . It has all the tips you need to make your skin glow even when the sun isn’t out. Also, bronze and gold eye shadows look great with peach lips. Don’t overdo it. Just add some color right on your lids, and up to the crease. If you’re wearing a peach pink color, go for the bronze and brown eye shadows. If you’re wearing an orange peach, go for the bronze eye shadows or no eye shadow at all.
Last, you need a bronze lip color. It doesn’t have to have shimmer, but must be bronze (or brown). It’s a color that flatters everyone, and it’s so appropriate for the fall weather. Some Suggestions: Mark Glow Baby Glow Lip Gloss in Player or Sud-n-Sass Jelly Balm in Lucky Penny.
3. I love bronze lip color. It looks good with almost any eye shadow. Try it with green-olive or bright, it really doesn’t matter, gold eye shadow, or blue eye shadow-and I recently discovered that it looks good with pink eye shadow! Because bronzer is not an overpowering color, you can wear your eye makeup reasonably heavy with it. If you are brown or dark skinned, make sure your skin looks flawless because too much bronze lips and dark eyes can make your skin look muddy.
