November 14th weekend will be a weekend of decisions for most fantasy football owners when it comes to choosing the right fantasy football tight end. The rise of Jacob Tamme has shown that it pays to be on top of team decisions in the wake of a starting tight end going down with serious injuries. Rank Tamme in the top five among Fantasy football tight ends.
Watching the injury report is always important and anyone that knew Kris Wilson was Antonio Gates back up may have started him and been disappointed. He does look as if he could be a factor if Gates is out for more than a few weeks. Tight ends on a bye this week are: Antonio Gates, Zach Miller, Jeremy Shockey.
Three Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Start in Week 10 of Fantasy Football
Jermaine Gresham: Cincinnati Bengals
Jermaine Gresham has yet to have a big game by fantasy football standards. Coming off a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers the Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers should be banged up and ineffective with the exception of Terrell Owens and Jermaine Gresham. These two receivers are the sturdiest in the line up for Cincinnati. Start Jermaine Gresham on most fantasy football teams unless one of the top four tight ends in fantasy football rankings is on the team.
Todd Heap: Baltimore Ravens
Todd Heap is the NFL’s largest punching bag. Heap takes incredible punishment every week and then bounces right back the next week for more. Playing the Atlanta Falcons may be like a vacation for Heap. The linebackers on the Atlanta Falcons are not known for hitting or knocking out players this season. Start Todd Heap on most fantasy football teams unless there is a tight end that ranks among the top seven fantasy football rankings.
Visanthe Schiancoe: Minnesota Vikings
Brett Favre has a new favorite target, the same as his old favorite target. When Randy Moss came aboard it did jumble patterns and crossing routes up while he was on the field. Now that Favre has control of his receivers once again he may be back on track and re-energized. Start Visanthe Schiancoe in most fantasy football leagues unless there is a tight end that ranks among the top eight fantasy football tight ends.
Three Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Sit in Week 10 of Fantasy Football
Aaron Hernandez: New England Patriots
Aaron Hernandez had a bad day in the New England Patriots loss to the Cleveland Browns. He dropped passes and did not run through routes on a couple of occasions. It was clear during the game Tom Brady was not happy with Hernandez and it may result in more blocking schemes for Hernandez as opposed to route running. To be safe it may be a good idea to sit Hernandez unless the next best option is ranked 12th or less among fantasy football tight ends.
Jason Witten: Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are now under the guidance of Jason Garrett at the head coach position but that will not address this offense. In fact the offense under Garrett’s command has been anemic at best. Jason Witten and the Dallas Cowboys may come out on a mission against the New York Giants this weekend but they are playing a team that will punish anyone crossing the middle of the field. Sit Jason Witten unless the next best option ranks 8th or less in the fantasy football rankings.
Dustin Keller: New York Jets
Dustin Keller took some heavy punishment in the game against the Detroit Lions in the New York Jets last game. He will now be going against the Cleveland Browns who have stepped it up defense themselves. A romp over AFC East leaders the New England Patriots was just what the doctor ordered for the confidence of the Cleveland Browns.
Keller will take some shots across the middle in this game and if he is not 100% healthy coming in he could be used sparingly. Sit Dustin Keller in most fantasy football leagues unless the next best option is ranked 12th or less in tight end fantasy football rankings.
