Thanksgiving weekend presents special situations for fantasy football owners. The wide receiver position this weekend will be one that will force fantasy football owners to consider starting some receivers they may not normally start.
Top fantasy football wide receivers such as Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson should be in rare form in their games as they against pass defenses that are below average in the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans. Make sure not to forget to start Calvin Johnson for his early Thanksgiving game. It will be a 9:30 a.m. start time for West Coast fantasy football owners.
Three Fantasy Football Wide Receivers to Start in Week 12 of Fantasy Football
Percy Harvin: Minnesota Vikings
No Brad Childress in the mix for the Minnesota Vikings may have an effect on the play calling in this game. Brett Favre will be more relaxed heading into this game as well as having a 100% version of Sidney Rice to spread the field. With Rice running deep routes, Favre will be focused on getting the ball to Percy Harvin in space where he is most dangerous. Start Percy Harvin in all fantasy football leagues unless there are two top five fantasy football receivers on the roster.
Mario Manningham: New York Giants
The New York Giants will face a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that is yielding over 270 yards per game and is playing poorly on the road this season. Look for Mario Manningham to be the primary focus of Eli Manning in this game and he will have plenty of time of time to set up in the pocket. With the loss of Hakeem Nicks this could be a big game for Manningham.
Mario Manningham will be busy running clear out routes to start the game and the run will be established early. Most of Manningham’s yards will come in the second half of this game. Start Mario Manningham in all fantasy football leagues unless there are two top five fantasy football wide receivers.
Steve Johnson: Buffalo Bills
Steve Johnson is the man on this suddenly high powered Buffalo Bills offense. This weekend they will be facing a Pittsburgh Steelers team that is unforgiving against the run. The Pittsburgh Steelers are more vulnerable against the pass and when at home the Buffalo Bills offense has racked up good numbers which is good news for Steve Johnson fantasy football owners. Start Steven Johnson in all fantasy football leagues unless there are two top five fantasy football wide receivers on the same team.
Three Fantasy Football Wide Receivers to Sit in Week 12 of Fantasy Football
Brandon Marshall: Miami Dolphins
A tough season just got tougher for the Miami Dolphins and Brandon Marshall. Fantasy football owners of Marshall have been hindered all season by his lack of production. Marshall was taken in the late second round early first round in most fantasy football drafts and he has not lived up to expectations. Now the Miami Dolphins are down to their third sting quarterback Tyler Thigpen and this translates into few or no receptions for Marshall. Sit Brandon Marshall in all fantasy football leagues.
Steve Smith: Carolina Panthers
Steve Smith and his fantasy football owners are in the same boat as Marshall. There is not a quarterback to be found on this Carolina Panthers roster and Smith will not break 1000 yards receiving this season. Smith is already playing as if this season is over and has not been his usual fiery self all season long. Sit Steve Smith in all fantasy football leagues and it may be time to cut him loose and look for a good third option wide receiver on the waiver wire.
Terrell Owens: Cincinnati Bengals
Terrell Owens has been awesome this season for his fantasy football owners and he does rank among the top five fantasy football wide receivers in the 2010 season. This week he will come up against the New York Jets Darrelle Revis and this should take Owens right out of the game.
Revis has been quietly gone about his business this year and aside from some hamstring issues he should be healthy for this game. Sit Terrell Owens in most fantasy football leagues unless the next best option ranked 12th among fantasy football wide receivers.
