In a game many thought would be a shootout, only the Cowboys showed up as they won the in-state battle and staved off a possible 0-3 start. The loss of LT Duane Brown to suspension due to steroid use hurt the passing game as Matt Schaub took heat all game long.
Tony Romo: 23/30 for 294 yards with 2 TD’s and 0 INT’s. Romo is putting up great numbers to start the season as expected due to the massive amount of weapons on offense. The last hurdle is to play well in December when the fantasy titles are decided.
Marion Barber: 17 carries for 55 yards with 1 TD along with 1 catch for 5 yards. The Cowboys wanted to run the ball more and mission accomplished. Barber wasn’t great but he will also be a good source for TD’s. Right now he is still holding off Felix Jones and Tashard Choice.
Felix Jones: 7 carries for 43 yards. Jones is not worth mentioning anymore until get gets more than 15 carries a game.
Roy Williams: 5 catches for 117 yards with 2 TD’s. Nice of you to finally join us Mr. Williams. This was the guy that Jerry Jones thought he was getting when he forked over all those draft picks. Williams was a guy I liked a lot when he first got to Detroit but he stagnated badly the last few years. Keep him monitored but don’t pick him up as he needs to do it again next week.
Dez Bryant: 4 catches for 50 yards. He played with bruised ribs and did what he had to do. Just wait until he matures. He will be incredible.
Miles Austin: 2 catches for 20 yards. It is very hard to keep up a 10-catch per game pace and so Austin came back to earth here. It wasn’t his day but nothing to be concerned about.
Jason Witten: 7 catches for 56 yards. There is concern about Witten however as he apparently injured his knee as he was seen with it wrapped after the game and went for an MRI today. The team has next week off but get a replacement in case. In my case I am picking up Aaron Hernandez and he is the guy I would endorse if you own Witten.
Matt Schaub: 23/32 for 241 yards with 1 TD and 2 INT’s. Bad news for Schaub owners is that his LT Duane Brown was suspended for steroid use and will miss at least four games. Schaub was running for his life on Sunday without him and this could be a trend for the next few weeks. He didn’t play well here once again as his start has been less than what was anticipated.
Arian Foster: 17 carries for 106 yards with 1 fumble along with 4 catches for 20 yards. Two nice games out of three as Foster is earning the trust of the fantasy community as a whole. I love the dual value of being a nice runner and a good pass catcher. Keep plugging him in there.
Andre Johnson: 4 catches for 64 yards. Johnson was forced from the game with a reaggravation to his ankle injury and had to be helped off. He downplayed it after the game but he likely will not practice much this week. Keep close watch on this.
Kevin Walter: 2 catches for 34 yards and 1 TD. Walter was invisible until the fourth quarter but the saved the day. If Johnson has to miss any time with his ankle, Walter becomes that much more valuable.
Owen Daniels: 3 catches for 27 yards. Its taking Daniels awhile to get into the flow of the offense and its probably time to look at other options if you are an owner. I still think you shouldn’t drop him as we saw how could he can be but it might be good to sit him for awhile.
