The Ravens continue to show that they are one of the best teams in the AFC while the Broncos lack of running game was exposed here.
Joe Flacco: 14/25 for 196 yards with 0 TD’s and 0 INT’s. Was a nondescript game for Flacco as the passing offense took a back seat to the tremendous ground game this week. Flacco has steadied himself after an awful start but he still has not taken that next step to stardom yet.
Ray Rice: 27 carries for 133 yards with 2 TD’s along with 4 catches for 26 yards. Finally! This is what Rice’s fantasy football owners have been waiting for. Yes it took a ton of carries to get that yardage but the two TD’s were welcomed. Rice can be an overall fantasy football monster that can carry your team in stretches so lets hope this is the start of such a run.
Willis McGahee: 10 carries for 67 yards with 1 TD. McGahee continues to serve as the goal line back and he continues to get the job done. He needs to get out of Baltimore to be fantasy football worthy due to Ray Rice’s presence however as he is still nothing but a bye week fill in to this point.
Derrick Mason: 3 catches for 47 yards. The receptions are down which takes him out of PPR status but Mason is still doing all right. Still he is no longer starting material in almost all leagues.
Anquan Boldin: 1 catch for 8 yards. Wow was he a bust this week. That’s what going against Champ Bailey will do for you. Forget this and start him with full confidence next week.
Todd Heap: 1 catch for 22 yards. Heap used to be a top tier TE option for all fantasy football leagues but that status is a thing of the past. Leave him on the wire.
Kyle Orton: 23/38 for 314 yards with 2 TD’s and 0 INT’s. I said two weeks ago that Orton is starting material in all leagues and he continues to prove why. The aerial circus in Denver is putting up ridiculous numbers and so Orton will be a top force all season. Kudos to those who made the pickup.
Laurence Maroney: 6 carries for 27 yards. Knowshon Moreno is supposed to return next week (enter joke here) and so mercifully I wont have to write about this guy anymore. Maroney is worthless in all fantasy football leagues.
Brandon Lloyd: 5 catches for 135 yards with 2 TD’s. I wrote this past week about how Brandon Lloyd is worth picking up in all leagues and this shows why. I was one who took my own advice as I scooped him up and enjoyed a huge day. Lloyd is playing like a WR 1 which is crazy to think that he was a waiver guy across the board. What a find he is this season.
Eddie Royal: 4 catches for 31 yards. Royal is having a good season and he will play the Wes Welker role all season. Much more valuable in PPR leagues than TD heavy setups, Royal will continue with the steady numbers in this offense.
Daniel Graham: 1 catch for 28 yards. Move on here. Nothing to report on this.
