Broncos’ incredible passing game have turned formerly mediocre players such as Kyle Orton and Brandon Lloyd into fantasy football starts. Huge win for Denver here as the Titans let this one slip away.
Vince Young: 17/28 for 173 yards with 1 TD and 0 INT’s along with 1carry for 18 yards. Young is still scuffling along with mediocre fantasy football numbers and its looking more and more like his career will be as more of a name than anything else.
Chris Johnson: 19 carries for 53 yards with 1 fumble along with 3 catches for 11 yards. This is the second poor game out of the last three for Johnson but there is no need to worry here. It just goes to show you how ridiculous he was last season.
Kenny Britt: 3 catches for 23 yards with 1 TD. Britt is turning into a decent TD option in TD heavy leagues but nothing more. The Titans passing offense is not good enough to warrant including any receiver unless its as a bye-week fill-in.
Nate Washington: 4 catches for 42 yards. Washington is the other starting wideout in Tennessee that fantasy football owners need to ignore.
Bo Scaife: 2 catches for 27 yards. Scaife used to be someone you could use during bye weeks but the depth at TE no longer makes him attractive.
Kyle Orton: 35/50 for 341 yards with 2 TD’s and 1 INT. I wrote a Fantasy Football Player Analyzer article last week about how I thought Orton was worthy of using as a QB 1 in all leagues and he proved why today. Orton is going all Kurt Warner every Sunday lately as Denver has no running game to speak of. Keep riding this hot hand.
Laurence Maroney: 11 carries for 5 yards along with 2 catches for 10 yards. If you didn’t look at Maroney as a complete bust than this game should ensure you don’t think of him in fantasy football for the rest of the season. He was a joke today and shouldn’t be on anyone’s roster no matter how desperate you are.
Brandon Lloyd: 11 catches for 115 yards. Lloyd has blown so many opportunities with so many teams that its easy to ignore what he is doing. However yesterday’s game was insane and with Denver throwing the ball as often as they are, Lloyd now deserves to be placed on all fantasy football rosters. He is available in my league and I will be putting in a claim for sure.
Eddie Royal: 8 catches for 113 yards with 1 TD. Royal is back to being a PPR bonanza and the TD’s have been an added bonus. Overall Royal is looking more like the dynamo he was when he broke into the league and not the inconsistent drag he was last year.
