The Dolphins did well to win against a division foe on the road but it was a miserable game all around. The Bills will be among the worst teams in football this year for sure. Here are some of the fantasy football storylines from the game.
Chad Henne: 21/34 for 182 yards with no TD’s and no INT’s. You all know I love Henne but give him time. He has the pedigree and surrounding cast to be solid. It may take longer than I anticipated however so be sure he is only your backup.
Ronnie Brown: 13 carries for 65 yards with 1 TD along with 2 catches for 20 yards. Brown lost the carries battle to Ricky Williams by five which is a decent concern. Still he scored a TD and caught a couple of passes which gave him a quietly all around decent day. I have always been a big Brown fan but his health keeps holding him back and looks like Williams will cut into his numbers once again. Consider him still a RB 2.
Ricky Williams: 18 carries for 62 yards. No scores and no receptions which dulled his day. I don’t consider Williams as anything more than a MUST HAVE handcuff to Ronnie Brown and a RB 3. Yes he got more carries than Brown but Ronnie has a better chance to put up the numbers.
Brandon Marshall: 8 catches for 53 yards. Marshall continues to pile up the catches wherever he goes but the yardage may take a hit with the young QB here. Overall though he is still a stud and a sure fire WR 1.
Davone Bess: 6 catches for 51 yards. Bess was a nice PPR secret as a rookie and he looks solid once again this year. Despite all the catches he will struggle to score more than a few TD’s and that’s what holds him back from a WR 2 spot. Still you could a lot worse for your WR 3 position.
Anthony Fasano: 3 catches for 46 yards. Fasano is a backup fantasy football TE who can have a big game every now and than. A good red zone weapon, Fasano could be among the league leaders at the position in TD’s but that’s will be the bulk of his value.
Dan Carpenter: 2/3 on field goals with a long from 43 yards. Carpenter has nice accuracy and I wouldn’t quibble if he was your starter. He is a little too young for me to trust however.
Trent Edwards: 18/34 for 182 yards. Edwards stinks and he is not getting any better. Among he very worst at his position in the league.
CJ Spiller: 7 carries for 6 days along with 4 catches for 8 yards. Yes you read that right. After that all the hype that’s what he produces? Wow that was pathetic. I told owners not to start him before yesterday’s game in order to see how he does first and also to hold onto Fred Jackson in case. Yeah I am good at this.
Fred Jackson: 4 carries for 19 yards along with 2 catches for 0 yards. Jackson figures to play more than anticipated as Spiller looks like he may need some more time to get acclimated to the league. Hope you didn’t cut him yet.
Lee Evans: 4 catches for 34 yards. You should not be owning any Buffalo wide receiver.
Rian Lindell: 1/2 on FG with a long of 51 yards. He is all right but I hate the kicking environment along with the offense so stay far away from him this season.
