Back in the 90s everything seemed a lot more fun. The shows were actual cartoons, the toys were games you played outside, even the commercials were memorable. From Stick Stickly to the Wonder Ball, the 90s were filled with many catchy jingles. In this article, the top five advertisements from the 90s are listed. Reminisce, shall we?
Favorite Commercials From The 90s: Wonder Ball
One of my favorite commercials from the 90s was for the candy “Wonder Balls”. The candy itself was a hollow chocolate ball that originally came with a small plastic toy and sticker inside it. Due to choking hazards from the small toy, the “Wonder Balls” were later redesigned to have edible candies in them instead.
This was one of my favorite commercials because of the catchy jingle. The commercial showed kids cracking open their chocolate balls while a man sings “Oh I wonder, wonder what’s in my Wonder Ball!” Even now, many years later, I can still remember all the lyrics to the commercial jingles.
Favorite Commercials From The 90s: Tootsie Pop
Another one of my favorite 90s commercials were for Tootsie Pops. Everyone knows the commercial where the oddly naked child goes to ask to owl how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. This 90s commercial was a parody of that which included 3D characters.
This was one of my favorite commercials because, being the 90s, seeing something in 3D was cool. What made it even more awesome is that the kid was asking a dinosaur and a skeleton the question instead of an owl. Of course, the kid gets the same response. “1, 2, 3, CRUNCH! The world may never know!”
Favorite Commercials From The 90s: Pizza Head
Pizza Head was one of my favorite commercials from the 90s. Pizza Head was a slice of pizza with a face that always wanted to go to Pizza Hut. Unfortunately for him, he always got himself into some crazy shenanigans that preventing him from going.
This was one of my favorite commercials because Pizza Head was more like a short show. While he was advertising Pizza Hut, the commercial was rarely about that. Instead, they were about him being flown away by a bat while screaming “Pizza Hut!” or something silly like that.
Favorite Commercials From The 90s: Stick Stickly
Another one of my favorite commercials from the 90s was Stick Stickly. Stick Stickly was the host of Nick In The Afternoon. During the commercial break, he would tell you the shows that were going to be on next.
Stick Stickly was one of my favorite commercials in the 90s because of his catchy theme song. During the commercial he would encourage you to write to him by singing his catchy and easily memorized address: Write to me Stick Stickly! PO Box 963! New York City, New York State, 10108!”
Favorite Commercials From The 90s: Frosted Cheerios
Last but certainly not least of my favorite commercials from the 90s is Frosted Cheerios. Simply put, these are just regular cheerios, but frosted!
This was one of my favorite commercials because Gumby and Pokey were in it. I’ve been a huge fan of Gumby for as long as I can remember, so seeing them in a commercial was amazing. It was also funny the way Gumby opened the cereal box and said, “Hey! These are frosted!’ and Pokey replied with, “Hey, we’re clay!”
