Elections are over (finally), and the ballots have been tallied. A controversial proposal has apparently passed muster. Ferndale has simplified the way department heads report information. As we had previously noted, the police chief, fire chief, city attorney, and city clerk all had to report directly to city council- no more. Now they report directly to the city manager.
51.85 percent of the vote went in favor of passage of the measure. Mayor Craig Covey, who won election to the Oakland County Commission, approved of the measure and felt that the new situation will be better for the next mayor.
