A Ferndale woman is facing attempted murder and felony firearm charges after allegedly shooting her husband in the neck in their home on Alberta Street. The suspect, 41-year-old Carla McCrory, called the Ferndale police around 1am on Thursday, October 14. During the call, she denied being the shooter; later, she alleged that her husband had attempted suicide. Officers who responded to the scene were skeptical about her story and ultimately placed her under arrest.
The 26-year-old husband was found in the couple’s bed with a gunshot wound to his neck. He is expected to survive. The 9mm pistol that caused his injuries is registered to his wife. Meanwhile, McCrory is being held in jail on a $1 million bond. She is expected in Ferndale 43rd District Court for a pre-exam conference on October 28.
