First All Time Top Country Song – Amarillo by Morning
This song as sung by George Strait represents the best of old school George Strait. The song was written by Terry Stafford and Paul Fraser. It was released in 1982. George Strait is definitely one of my favorite country singers. He is still going strong.
Second All Time Top Country Song – I Can’t Help It (If I’m Still in Love with You)
Hank Williams is one of my all time favorites. He was such a good songwriter and I love the emotion in his voice when he sang songs such as this. The song was released in 1955. It is a great song about not being able to get over a lost love. I have lived these emotions.
Third All Time Top Country Song – The Gambler
This song was written by Don Schlitz and released in 1978. It was a big hit for Kenny Rogers. This is one of those songs with a good story. A movie called Kenny Rogers as the Gambler came out in 1980 and was inspired by the song.
Fourth All Time Top Country Song – Crazy
This song written by Willie Nelson before he hit it big was sung by Patsy Cline. It was released in 1961. Supposedly, Patsy Cline did not want to record this song, but it became a big hit. She had such a wonderful voice and I really love her version of this great song.
Fifth All Time Top Country Song – The Dance
This song was written by Tony Arata and Henry Drsydale-Wood. It was released in 1989 and sung by Garth Brooks. I really like the message in this song. In life if we miss out on the pain, we could be missing out on the good as well.
