When you factor in dinner, drinks, and a movie, the bill for a night out on the town, surely, adds up. But don’t worry about it, here are five cheap dates where you will have tons of fun while pinching some pennies at the same time.
Movie Marathon Date
Nothing is more romantic than watching some of your favorite movies. Rent a bunch of them on DVD, pop some popcorn, get some sweets, and watch them on your couch while snuggling together under a blanket. You can even have a theme night. For example, my boyfriend and I like to have movie marathon nights where we watch our favorite horror movies together. A tip: to add to the romance light some candles to set the mood.
Ice Cream Date
Everyone of us has got a sweet tooth, so why not go for an ice cream date? There are tons of ice cream shops that serve coffee and desserts, so if you and your date are craving for something sweet, then hit the dessert cafe. A tip: you can even add to the romance by taking turns feeding each other your sundaes.
City Walk Date
Interested in buildings and monuments in your city? Why not take an architectural tour of your hometown while going for a walk with your date. Spend some time researching the buildings and monuments online, locate them on a map and design your own walking tour of the monuments that you are both interested in. A tip: this date is for sightseers, so remember to bring your camera. Be sure to take pictures of each other at the monuments you visit.
Free Museum Date
Every month, a lot of museums host lower admission days where you can view the exhibition at a discounted price or free of charge. If you are both interested in contemporary art, look up the local art museum online and check out their admissions page. Usually, it will say if they have free admission days. There you have it, another fun and cheap date.
Wine and Cheese Picnic
I have had my share of tasting some of the best wine and cheese, I swear I can never get enough of it. So why not have a picnic where you pack a basket of goodies like a bottle of wine and your favorite cheese? If you plan to spend a lot of time together, pack some home-made sandwiches, chocolate, and fruits. A tip: find a great spot in a park or where you have the best view of the sunset.
