Have a bachelor party and need the perfect gift to give to the groom to be? So do we give a gag gift, or do we go serious? Thankfully for men, pretty much anything is acceptable, but of course we like to be funny, so the perfect gift is in most cases a gag gift. Although we would prefer for our female counterparts not to know, we do sometimes have a serious gift giving side, and there is room for that at a bachelor party, too. Here are a few ideas on what to get the soon-to-be imprisoned man. (Yes, I’m joking for all you women that are reading this.)
Gag Gift #1 – Inflatable doll
This is probably the most common gag gift for would-be grooms. After all, we do always tease that once you get married…well, you know the rest. Let’s at least hope this will be indeed a gag gift and not something that is practical. While we are at it, if you are going to go this route, we could always go with an inflatable sheep to really rile up our soon-to-be married man. Yes, they really make these and boy am I praying they are for gag gift purposes only.
Serious Gift #1 – Tickets to favorite sports team
If you want to go the serious route on bachelor party gift giving for the groom, than it is pretty hard to go wrong. As long as the upcoming groom like sports, then this is one gift that any guy would love to receive. It can be used for a guys night out, or in some instances to get the soon-to-be wife to try to do something together that he actually likes. For all those married men out there, it is okay if you would rather go shoe shopping with your wife. I’m sure it will score major brownie points with the your bride, but you might not want to let your guy friends in on that little secret.
Gag Gift #2 – Condoms
Now, I don’t just mean any condoms. We can all admit that us guys have big egos, even if sometimes we shouldn’t. Some not so mature men (like any of us are really mature), like to talk about the size of our penises or tease our friends about their lack-there-of. You would think that this is only something high school kids do, but what can I say; we all like to act like we are still teenagers once in a while. Give the groom to be extra small condoms, otherwise known as Little Willy Condoms. You never know; this might actually be a useful item, unless of course, you know how well endowed your friend is. In that case, we are just going to ignore that fact and not ask questions
Serious Gift #2 – Gift Card to favorite store
There is nothing like a good excuse to give the wife to go get new golf clubs, tools or electronics. You can’t just let a gift card go to waste; it’s already paid for. So, of course you had to get an item that was twice as much as the gift card. There just wasn’t anything you needed in that price range, and wasting it on something useless would be a shame. Hook up your soon-to-be married friend with a chance to get himself a toy that his new bride might not let him get otherwise.
Gag Gift & Serious Gift Combination #3 – Groom T-shirt
Bachelor parties are about hanging out with friends, celebrating and razzing. Razz the soon-to-be wed man with a funny shirt that in the end states in a manly way that he is about to be married. This could be a t-shirt that says “Game Over,” or just a t-shirt that says “Groom.” This idea will work well for the groom-to-be if you guys are hitting up the nightlife at a club or bar. It will bring him some extra attention while there, and that’s okay, because it might just be the last night he can enjoy that without getting in trouble for it.
All I ask is that you not lose your best friend and have to go searching rooftops in Vegas for him on his wedding day.
