If you are looking to really get away for your honeymoon, look no further than these five beaches that are renowned for their remote atmospheres.
Palmetto Point, Barbuda
This is a prominent headland that marks the southeasternmost point of Barbuda. The stretch of 12-mile beach will envelop you with views of Barbuda’s southwest coast and across the water to Antigua and even to St. Kitts. The beach’s vivid pink sand makes a perfect spot to relax and do absolutely nothing. Take note that many of the non-hotel beaches in Barbuda lack services so be sure to bring everything you need for a day at the beach. Also be mindful of the currents, which can get pretty strong in that region certain times of year.
Railay Beach, Thailand
Railay Beach is located on the Phra Nang Peninsula, which features towering limestone cliffs and perfect beaches. Here, you can relax on the beach and do nothing, or be a little more active. The region is noted for great scuba diving and snorkeling. The giant limestone cliffs cut off mainland access, making this a place that is accessible only by boat, helping it maintain a relaxing atmosphere.
The four main areas of Railay include Pranang, West Railay, East Railay, and Tonsai, the last being more of a popular spot with rock climbers.
Tikehau, French Polynesia
Located in the Tuamotu Islands, the Tikehau atoll is only 12 km to the west of Rangiroa. It is made up of two major islands and numerous islets. Most of the small islets and motus are uninhabited, making this a perfect place to escape. While this pristine gem of the South Pacific may be remote, it is only an hour flight from Papeete in Tahiti. Take a day trip from Tahiti or spend a few days with places like Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort offering overwater bungalows that seem perched directly atop a coral garden.
Intendance Bay, Seychelles
The island is a Banyan Tree Resort and sits on the southwestern coast of Mahe. The land was initially acquired by the late George Harrison and Peter Sellers. The talcum powder beach is considered to be one of the world’s most beautiful. With views of the Indian Ocean from the resort and the blend of romance and exotic sensuality that Banyan Tree is known for, Intendance Bay is a wonderful place to spend your honeymoon.
Nooki Nooki Island, Fiji
With a name like Nooki Nooki Island, you might be wondering how can you go wrong for a secluded honeymoon beach? Nooki Nooki Island is located in the Southern Fiji Islands and is accessible via boat or catamaran only. It is a very small beach that offers a beautiful contrast of soft white sand and turquoise water with the hard walls of grey lava rock. For the ultimate in privacy, you can actually reserve the island of Nooki Nooki for the day!
