The addition of the Two Sisters Gourmet food line allows for an endless assortment of entertaining possibilities. Check out five ways to use the Over-the-Edge Herbed Spinach with your day to day cooking and entertaining needs.
This one I came up with by tweaking the current recipe for a spinach dip using the Herbed Spinach item. Rather than just put sour cream with the spice, I add a little bit more, making it a thicker, spread able and mouthwatering treat. Oh, and this goes well on French bread or even the Two Sister’s Gourmet Beer Bread!
1 cup sour cream
1 brick cream cheese
½ cup mayonnaise
Combine sour cream, mayonnaise and cream cheese until smooth. Add one half of the bottle of Herbed Spinach (more or less depending upon how strong you want the spinach) and let sit over night. Put in bowl with spreader and watch your guests devour this with bread or crackers.
When making meatloaf or meatballs add one quarter of the bottle per two pounds of meat using. This will add a nice taste bud treat, as well as give your meatloaf some additional color.
After topping off your vegetables to be roasted, sprinkle a layer of Herbed Spinach over the top before putting in the oven. This will add a nice color to the top of your vegetables and spice to the flavor.
Add some life to plain turkey burgers by adding a little Herbed Spinach. For every pound of ground turkey you are using to make burgers add one quarter of the bottle of Herbed Spinach. Not only will this add flavor to boring turkey burgers, it will keep the meal healthy. Burgers will appear to look better with a little green in the coloring.
Stuffed Chicken Breasts
When stuffing chicken breasts try this little recipe which adds a world of flavor to a traditional chicken breast. Chop up some crab meat, add a couple table spoons of the Herbed Spinach and toss in with some parmesan cheese. This needs to be done based on your taste preferences as to how much crab and cheese in added. Remember the more cheese the thicker the mixture will be.
Then top off mixture with olive oil a teaspoon at a time, until you are able to mold the mixture. Stuff chicken and baked.
