According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, Milestone AV Technologies LLC of Savage, Minn. has released a recall for one of their products. This is a voluntary recall that was released August 25, 2010.
What is being recalled?
Approximately 131,000 units are involved in this recall.
What’s the problem?
When the television is adjusted, it can tilt and/or fall because the components of the elbow joint on the unit’s arm don’t fit together the way they are supposed to. If this happens, the television can fall and injure you, your children, or your pets. It could also damage the television, depending on how far it falls and what it falls on. No injuries have been reported at the time this recall was released.
Which specific wall mounts are involved in this recall?
There are two flat screen wall mounts involved in this recall. The first one is the Sanus Vision Mount, with model number LF228-B1. The other is the Simplicity model, with model number SLF2. You can find the model number on the UL sticker, which is on the wall plate. The Sanus Vision Mount was sold nationwide from June 2009 through July 2010 through independent dealers for approximately $450. The Simplicity model was sold at Costco only for about $200 in the same time period. Both models were manufactured in China.
What do I do now?
