Pilgrims and turkeys,
The scent of Fall sweeps graciously through the air.
Oh, hi, hello, I haven’t seen you since last year.
I brought the sweet potatoes,
I brought the pie,
I brought the wine, and a lot of it.
I’m thankful that we’re here,
On this day.
Such a loving family,
“Why does it take a Holiday to be together?”
I say grace; I say we need to see each other more often.
I am swept up by reds, oranges and browns.
I give thanks and love.
But this year, I’m not stopping just because the clock strikes twelve.
From now on,
It’s always Thanksgiving.
