Brandon Graham has chased around both Michael Vick and Denard Robinson in practice before, and the Philadelphia Eagles rookie recently made waves when he came out and said that Robinson is “a couple steps” faster than Vick.
Vick is widely considered to be the fastest or one of the fastest QB’s to ever play in the NFL.
Graham said it in a conference call and the comments were published inthis Detroit Free Press article.
According to Graham, the Denard Robinson speed factor is something that he hasn’t even seen from Vick in practice even though Vick has made NFL defenses silly.
He attributed it a bit to Vick being an older guy but still said that Robinson seems faster to him. The Denard Robinson for Heisman campaign has picked up after two weeks of play for the Michigan Wolverines as the sophomore QB has more total yards (885) than dozens of teams including top programs like Wisconsin and USC among others.
Robinson lit up Notre Dame for more than 500 yards of total offense running and throwing and he is a former track star in Florida who has run 40-yard dashes in under the 4.4 mark according to various high school recruiting sites.
Can Robinson really win the Heisman? Many people think so but it’s still very premature to declare him a favorite. Don’t forget Tate Forcier had Heisman hype last year for UM until he tore a labrum in his shoulder and went on to have an average season.
But if Denard Robinson really is faster than Michael Vick as Graham said, you can bet that many defenders will end up looking at the back of his jersey as he pulls away from them throughout the college football season.
