If you’ve ever been in the car on the way to work and said something like, “I just want to kill that driver who cut me off,” you should take a beat and hear the news out of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. According to Brooklyn Paper (1) “Classon Avenue resident Terrell Canty,” was shot this morning at 8:30 am. This incident in broad daylight in the busy Clinton Hill intersection of Classon and Lafayette Avenues brought Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, and all of New York City back to a much scarier time.
While there have been scant few details released as of yet, you can bet that police are hot in pursuit of the gunman who shot Canty at what is presumed to be point blank range before fleeing the scene of the crime.
Traffic for the morning commute was held up for more than an hour as police gathered evidence, culled together information, and tried to draw a picture of just what happened.
Residents who lived in Brooklyn in the 70’s and 80’s still have the gun blasts ringing in their ears.
