SHARE.nyc is a weekly “open jam session” hosted by ISSUE Project Room at 232 3rd st, in Gowanus, which presents a “platform to explore expression, in a variety of art forms.”
When they say “variety of art forms,” they aren’t kidding.
The way they describe this open jam session, it sounds like anything you can bring that will plug in, make noise, project colors, or otherwise entertain the senses is encouraged to “jam.”
And if you have never seen a video jam, well, neither have we. But it sounds fascinating!
We have not actually been to one of these events, so cannot attest to them being interesting, but we are quite intrigued for what we’ve read.
The ISSUE Project Room’s website also specifically talks about having and engaging spectators, so it would seem that one does not necessarily need to be jamming to enjoy the jams.
Check their website and see if it doesn’t sound intriguing, and check out a jam if you get the chance.
