Illustrator Claire Frossard left her home town of Versailles, France in 1997 to study at the School of the Decorative Arts in Strasbourg. A year later she came to Brooklyn to visit her uncle, photographer Etienne Frossard, whose work has appeared in Newsweek, Time Out New York, Metropolis, and New York Living. The visit would become the basis for their current collaboration, ‘Emma’s Journey’, a delightful, beautifully illustrated book about a pigeon’s journey from Brooklyn to France.
The book contains over 40 colour photographic images overlaid with Claire Frossard’s illustrations depicting Emma’s life in New York; Central Park, Little Italy and Dumbo, Brooklyn and her sojourn to Paris. The book is an imaginative and captivating story that both children and adults can enjoy.
The authors will be at Greenlight Bookstore in Fort Greene on Saturday November 6th, 2010 at 10:30am to share their book and it’s whimsical illustrations in both French and English.
