Toddlers have a unique view of the world. They learn quickly and see things a lot different from an adult. Even though the toddler years have the frustration of temper tantrums and potty training, having a toddler is never boring. Here are some humorous quotes from Sarah that still make me laugh thinking about them. Hope this brings some laughter into your day.
At dinner my two older kids then five and six were talking about a play date they had earlier. Their friend who came over said he was allergic to bees. So the older kids asked if they were allergic to anything. I answered that they weren’t allergic to anything but their younger sister was allergic to milk. Sarah then stood in her chair, hands on her hips, and yelled, “I’m allergic to COWS!”
Shortly after I had cleaned up my living room and organized by kid’s four shelf book case I had went into the kitchen to wash dishes. Sarah called for me to see what she made. I go back in the living room to find that she had pulled all the books back out. There were random piles of books scattered around and a line of books from one wall to the front door. I wasn’t happy about this but simply said, “While that is a nice road I need you to put the books back in the bookcase.” Sarah held her hands out to me and replied, “But my hands are too small.” I couldn’t help but laugh at her excuse for not being able to clean.
While attending my older kids kindergarten performance I was speaking to the school’s principal. Sarah was holding my hand at the time and the principal looked down at her and said, “You look just like your sister.” Sarah looks toward her sister then back to the principal and says, “No I look like a Sarah!” This got a lot of laughs from the principal and teachers that heard.
During potty training Sarah said she wanted to wear diapers again. I told her, “You’re a big girl. Mommy is done changing diapers. You need to use the potty.” Unfazed Sarah said, “But when you wear diapers I’ll change you.”
