According to police reports, there were a number of garage and porch burglaries in Royal Oak from October 1st to the 6th, with reports of missing bikes and valuables. The burglaries took place at the 100 block of McLean Ave. and 1100 Hoffman Ave. near VFW Park, and the 200 block of W. Parent Ave. and the 200 block of S. Laurel St. over by 10 Mile and Woodward Ave.
The McLean Ave. break-in on October 1st was an early morning garage entry, resulting in the theft of a silver and blue men’s Trek mountain bike and some audio equipment. The garage was unlocked The nearby Hoffman Ave. garage break-in on October 6th resulted in nothing being stolen, though the side garage door had been kicked in. This burglary took place around 8:40 pm.
On the other side of town at W. Parent, on October 2nd a green Gary Fischer mountain bike was stolen from an enclosed porch around 8 in the morning. At S. Laural the next day around 4 pm, a house was broken into resulting in numerous electronics being stolen.
