The best bike shop in Seattle just happens to be one of the most unique shops I have ever been to. It is called recycled Cycles and I think its name is well fitting for what it represents.
This humble but busy shop located at 1007 NE Boat Street Seattle, WA 98105 was founded on October 10, 1994 for the purpose of working with used parts and reconditioned bicycles. Even though the shop is about recycled parts, the friendly employers do work with new bicycles and sell new bicycles as well.
When the doors to this shop first opened, their dream was towards lower prices as well as helping the environment. Instead of being the normal snooty bicycle shop with the ” I am better than you ” attitude, this bike shop provides humble down to earth alternative to the normal atmosphere that most bike shops provide.
Recycled Cycles is definitely not “Average Joe’s”. With cheaper prices on used bike parts this store has provided a means of helping the environment and helping fellow man during this touch economy. Even the work environment for employees is meant to be a fun place where the employee actually wants to work instead of dreading the everyday sludge to work.
With knowledge and enthusiasm the employees help with whatever needs the customer may have with their bike in a fun setting that just so happens to be a bike museum.
That’s right! Recycled Cycles is also a museum. When you walk in and you find bicycles hanging form the ceiling, those are their museum displays and for 12 years this shop has gained much popularity among the common bicyclist and commuter.
If you own a vintage bicycle, parts will be found for that. If you own a new bike parts will be found for that bicycle as well. Recycled Cycles is not only a bike shop, and museum but it is also a repair shop. In the back of the shop there is even a little repair place for your bike. So relax and trust that your precious bicycle is in good down to earth, fun loving people who not only care about their business but they care about you as well.
Others services Recycled cycles offers are rental bicycles, where the price is quite reasonable. You have your choice of bicycles or trailers to go along with the bicycle.
Of course you will have to pay a hefty deposit of $450 dollars for the rental. Classes are also offered to help the bicyclist learn the ins and outs of his or her own two- wheeler. The cost of this class is $175.00 but the information you will learn wil last you a lifetime making this price very affordable.
Truly, Recycled Cycles really is the best little bicycle shop in town. So stop in at their garage like shop over on Boat Street and see for yourself how other shops cannot be compared. Feel free to give recycled cycles a call if you have any questions at 206-547-4491.
