In recent years, ghost bikes have been installed all over New York City as a memorial to those who have died while biking. On Saturday, September 25, 2010, the 28th ghost bike in Brooklyn was installed. The memorial, which is a bike painted white, was installed at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Washington Avenue in memory of Jasmine Herron. Ms. Herron was a 23 year old biker who was crushed by a city bus on September 11, 2010. Ms. Herron was an aspiring actress who worked as a barista at Think Coffee in Manhattan. She often rode her bike to work.
