The opening scene shows Kurt with two of the cheerleaders/glee club members performing their own rendition of Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” in front of a camera tripod. Kurts dad walks in on the spectacle and shuts off the music, mid-dance routine. His father is upset about his unitard, and the girls tell Kurt that Kurt joined the football team. His dad leaves the room, after Kurt fakes being the boyfriend of one of the girls, but asks Kurt to get him a ticket to his first game before he goes.
Terri’s sister Kendra comes to help prepare Terri to give birth. Terri is practicing labor contractions with the guidance of her sister. Her sister suggests that Schuester rub the gas bubbles out of Terri’s belly, and Terri immediately insists that he not, and distracts the situation by asking him to make her B.L.T, as a random pregnancy craving. Terri begins crying and admits to Kendra that she isn’t really pregnant and has been wearing a fake belly. She believes that if Schuester found out he would leave her. She wants to tell Schuester but her sister tells her not to and that a marriage needs dishonesty. Terri looks confused and Kendra says “We’re going to have to get you a baby!”
Emma, along with her boyfriend Ken, are talking to Schuester, telling him that Sue, the cheerleading coach, is not on the local news with her own segment. Schuester is incredilous and dosen’t understand why they would give Sue a spot on the news. Sue walks in bragging about how her segment has boosted the new station’s ratings and continues to degrade and talk down to Schuester, Emma and Ken.
Rachel is upset when she finds out that Tina is given the lead in a song from westside story and has an argument with Schuester in front of the entire Glee club.
Kurt manages to get on the football team, helping protect the lie he told his father, by asking Finn, who is also the school’s quarterback, for a favor. While at practice, Ken is criticizing the kicker, and puts him on the bench to act as the water boy and offers the spot to the person who does best kicking. Kurt “auditions” for the “role” of kicker, and does a special dance before kicking the ball impressively. Ken announces to the team that they have a new kicker!
Sue’s new boss at the news station lets he know that his daughter told him that a lot of the cheerleaders are defecting to the Glee club, and that since her segment is about winning and being a champion, that she needs to win nationals.
Finn is looking for Quinn, and when he catches up with her he asks her why she’s giving him the silent treatment. Quinn, with tears rolling down her face, says “I’m pregnant.” Finn is confused when she says its his because they’ve never had sex. She claims she got pregnant when they were fooling around in the hot tub, and that even though they were both wearing their swimsuits, the hot tub is the perfect temperature to make it swim faster.
Sue pays a visit to Sandy in his home, where he shows her his extensive doll collection. Wearing a kimono and serving up tea, Sandy has a meltdown about his dissatisfaction with his life to Sue. Sue offers him the school’s arts administrator program, giving him control over music, art, drama and glee club. The principal refuses to allow Sandy back to the school, but Sue blackmails the principal with a video he made while working for an airline on how to prevent embolisms in flight.
Sue and Sandy stage a fake cabaret audition to attract Rachel’s attention. Schuester is enraged when he finds out Sandy is back, and is even more upset with Sandy and Sue when they “stole” Rachel from the Glee club. Schuester pleads with Rachel to get her to come to rehearsal but won’t offer her Tina’s lead roll. Tina, however, isn’t confident as lead and tell Schuester to give the lead to Rachel. Finn walks into practice crying and Schuester lends an ear to him. He tells Schuester, Quinn is keeping the baby and that he’s afraid to become like the other boys who had babies in high school. He then tells Schuester he needs a football scholarship. Confused, Schuester says he’s not a football coach, but Finn asks him to teach the football players to dance, to help loosen them up so they can start winning games.
Schuester talks to his wife when he gets home, telling her about Quinn’s pregnancy. Schuester talks about how he couldn’t imagine having to hide something like that all the time. Terri looks guilt stricken for a moment and then asks what the girls name was, and burst into a smile as her husband turns around and looks away.
Schuester takes on teaching the football team how to dance, despite their initial objections. Ken forces them all to participate in the dancing. Finn tells Noah that Quinn is pregnant and keeping the baby. Noah then confronts Quinn about who the father is. Quinn tells Noah that the only reason she had sex with him is because he got her drunk and she felt fat that day. Noah insists that he wants to help because he isn’t a deadbeat like his dad. Quinn rejects his offer and tells him he’s a loser and always will be.
Quinn runs to her car crying, through the rain, only to see Terri sitting in her passenger seat. Terri begins telling Quinn that she can’t do this and she can’t have a baby and that she wants to help. Quinn looks frightened and scared, and dosen’t know who Terri is. Terri gives Quinn a bottle of prenatal vitamins, and Quinn is even further confused and dosen’t know what Terri wants from her.
At the football game, the guys seem reluctant to do what they did during practice out of fear of making themselves look like a joke. The team is losing badly throughout the game. Kurt’s father shows up to the game, watching Kurt. Finn calls a time out, and tells the rest of the team they have to do it like they did in practice. The team agrees and the team breaks out into a football dance routine during the game. The other team is confused, but some of them start dancing too, but are quickly stopped by the other team members. The routine continues and then the quarterbak takes off with the ball and scores, leaving the game tied. Kurt is called to kick, does his dance routine, kicks and scores, winning the game. Noah sees Quinn kiss Finn after the winning move and gets an angry and jealous look on his face.
At Kurts house, his dad comes to his room and tells him that he was proud of him for how he did at the game. Kurt then makes a difficult admission to his father, telling him that he was gay. His father then surprises him and says he’s known since he was three, and that he loves him just as much.
Finn gives Quinn his baby blanket from when he was a child and pledges to Finn that he’s going to do everything he can to be the best father possible. Noah walks up, and starts making snarky comments to Quinn. Finn tells Noah to back off and Noah leaves, telling Finn he’s right and that he was out of line.
Schuester introduces three new football players into the Glee club. Rachel is at the rehearsal, fully expecting to have the lead in the song, but Tina is given the role. Rachel is upset and quits the Glee club and returns to Sandy, telling him she’ll peform for them exclusively.
The episode ends focused on a very confused, and upset looking Quinn standing next to her locket.
