According to early reports from Deadline Hollywood, our favorite recently knocked up cheerleader, Quinn from Glee (Dianna Agron) might be in the running for a spot in the highly anticipated Untitled Spider-Man Reboot. The movie will star Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, Never Let Me Go) as the heroic web-slinger.
She auditioned for two roles: Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson (played by Kirsten Dunst in the recent Spider-Man films). Emma Stone (Zombieland, Easy A) has been tapped as an early favorite for Mary Jane, so if Miss Agron does get a part, it will probably be as Peter Parker’s first love, Gwen Stacy.
Dianna has been busy lately with not only Glee, but also three upcoming movies: The Hunters, BoldNative and I Am Four, as well as the recently released The Romantics with Katie Holmes and Anna Paquin.
Other contenders for the roll include: Mia Wosikowska (The Kids Are Alright, Alice in Wonderland), Georgina Haig (Rescue: Special Ops, Wasted on the Young) and Dominique McElligott (Moon, Leap Year).
Choices will likely be made soon because production is scheduled to start on the film by the end of the year. The film was conceived in controversy since Sony and Sam Raimi (original director for the first three) parted ways over creative differences, with Raimi taking already inked in Tobey McGuire with him. With the deal falling apart, Sony decided to scrap it all and start fresh.
Deadline also reports that Venom could be the villain of choice for the reboot and rumors are flying that Phillip Seymour Hoffman might be tapped to play him.
