If you like a little pancake with your noise, then the place for you is “Godwaffle Noise Pancakes,” a percussion art installation event at The LAB this Sunday, Sept. 26. Percussion artists performing for your entertainment include MOE! Staiano, Transient, Head Boggle, Lazy Boy (MX 80) with Pale Reverse, and Key West.
Moe! Staiano is a percussionist who created a prepared percussion trap set that he performs with regularly. He uses pipes, food pans, pressure caps, sheet metals, knick knacks and more, so beware of flying objects.
Transient creates music for a number of venues, including the soundtrack to “Coming to California,” a video installation by Cause Collective at the Oakland Museum of California.
Head Boggle’s performances can be called electronic sculptures. He has performed around the Bay Area. Lazy Boy (MX 80), Pale Reverse, and Key West will round out the show.
If you haven’t been to The LAB, it’s located at 2948 16th St. at Valencia. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the show starts at noon. Tickets are sliding scale, $5-$10, or entrance is free if you are a LAB member. Earplugs are included with the price of admission.
