People can get sentimental over some things but finding the wall which is the last standing remnant of the original Dodgers Stadium on its way down is a sad state of affairs.
Con Edison is doing the dirty deed and even though the company said they were going to maintain the original portion of the wall still standing, as reported back in the Gothamist (1), that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Earlier in 2010 the Landmarks Preservation Commission was looking to determine “whether a wall in Gowanus was worthy of landmark designation. Some believe the 20 foot wall which stands at 3rd Avenue between 1st and 3rd Streets is part of the original Dodgers stadium.”
However progress moves on and when a reader, April from Brooklyn sent in images which made it appear as though the wall was coming down, bedlam ensued.
