With today’s economy and all the recalls on our food products, especially our produce its hard to not want to grow your own garden. But for those of us on low-carb diets, some vegetables are to high in carb content making them not suitable for low carb lifestyles.
I have written a list of the lowest carb veggies. Vegetables are delicious and very good for you! With your own garden, you will never need to worry about spending your hard earned dollars on organic vegetables, or worse… those could have been sprayed with harmful pesticides.
All hearty greens such as kale, mustard greens… etc.
Green and wax beans
… And there are many more to add to your list. Once you can find your favorites, you can start looking for seeds. Seeds can be found at any retail store with a garden department. Although you may have to wait till warmer weather to find them. Some places may sell seeds year round.
You should follow your seed packet directions on when and where to plant your seeds. Gardens are fun for the whole family to enjoy!
There are many resources for finding organic bug control for your new garden. Be sure to look for non-toxic all natural solutions. There are many out there to choose from, so be sure to do all your homework on the topic before trying it out!
There are even repellants for deer, cats, dogs and all sorts of other mammalian type garden pests. Cats and dogs fall into this category not because they will necessarily eat your new crop but because their urine and fecal matter is dangerous to you and your plants!
Good luck to you with growing your own low carb garden!
