Within our community, we understand that those in need often wait a significant amount of time for improvements to their much needed shelters. The families at the local Hamilton Family Center have been waiting to have repairs made to the elevator in that facility. Improvements are needed as current conditions limit the number of disabled families it can accommodate.
The Human Services Agency recently declared a state of emergency for the city of San Francisco. The Board of Supervisors needed to approve the $180,000 in order to release the funding the Hamilton Family Center said it needed.
This is a good opportunity for the residents of the Haight Ashbury to write in to the Board and let them know that you support the Hamilton Family Center. Families at the center are in transition from homelessness or are working toward homelessness prevention.
Helping the facility get the funding it needs is important to making this tower available to families that have disabilities. Write on behalf of a concerned citizen to the Board of Supervisors and let them know you want the funding released.
